What it is:
The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is a new key instrument in the EU product safety legal framework, replacing from 13 December 2024 the current General Product Safety Directive
The directive gives new requirements for how products sold online need to be marked to secure good information about “responsible persons” within the EU and EEA.
A responsible person should be the Legal Entity responsible for putting a product on the market within the union, and the purpose is to secure transparency in case a product is found “unsafe” or in breach with the directive for General Product Safety Regulation.
You as a merchant must comply, by giving correct, required information about all your product ads.
How does it impact CDON & Fyndiq?
The rule will come into place December 13 2024, but you don’t need to act until we have notified you with a date of when we will require this data.
For now please see this as an informative newsletter since the feature will be in place during the first quarter of 2025. We will notify you in advance with an exact date before this feature is available.

Requirements:
When you as a merchant upload an article, the below fields will be available for the product to be filled in by you. The following information will clearly be visible on the website for each product:
If manufacturer is located within EU:
- Manufacturers name, registered trade name or trademark
- Postal address
- Electronic address (website or email)
If manufacturer is located outside EU:
- Manufacturers name, registered trade name or trademark
- Postal address
- Electronic address (website or email)
- The responsible persons name
- The responsible persons contact details (Phone number or email)
Example:
Manufacturer Name:
- Name: Samsung Korea
- Address: Samsung Street 123, Korea

Responsible Person:
