Electric bikes Max 250W
The motor may only amplify the power from the pedals and may not provide any additional power at speeds above 25 km/h. The maximum rated continuous power of the motor may be 250 watts.
Electric bikes between 250W and 1000W
Electric bicycles with motors that have a capacity between 250W and 1000W may only provide a power supplement up to 25 km/h. In other words, electric bikes according to the new classification will not be faster, but rather stronger.
To drive this type of electric bicycle, the driver must be 15 years old, hold a driver's license (driver's license, tractor license or driver's license with AM authorization) and traffic insurance. This type of electric bicycle is classified as a Class II moped and may be ridden on a cycle path unless signage says otherwise.
Electric bikes between 1000W and 4000W
Electric bicycles with motors that have a capacity of between 1000W and 4000W may provide additional power up to 45 km/h. This classification counts in the legal sense as a moped class 1 and requires that the driver is over 15 years old, holds a driver's license (driver's license or driver's license with authorization AM). The vehicle also requires a registration plate and traffic insurance. Electric bicycles classified as class I mopeds may not be ridden on cycle paths.
Electric scooters
Electric vehicles without pedals may have a maximum power of 250W for use on public roads, maximum permitted speed is 20 km/h.
If an electric scooter has a maximum power of more than 250W and a speed that exceeds 20 km/h, it may not be used on public roads.
