SEO (Search Engine Optimization) best practices for article pages
Below you will find some tips and tricks of how to write article titles and article descriptions for better SEO and increased sales.
Unique texts & write for the customer
- Try to have as unique texts as possible for each product, Google does not like duplicate content and will demote articles where the titles and/or descriptions are exactly alike. Even small differences in the texts make a difference.
- Write for the customer - what would make the customer click on your product?
Search phrase
- Add the search phrase you want the article to be shown for in the article title and in the article description.
- There are tools to look up average search volume for different search phrases such as Google Keyword Planner.
- Example: If you want your article to be seen for “2-pack skärmskydd iPhone 11” then you should have it in your article title and description in different variations.
Important info in the beginning
Always have the most important information about the article in the beginning of the article title and description, the customer should know exactly what type of article it is with this copy - this will also be shown in Google’s search results and if it is too long the text will be cut off.
Selling & descriptive article description
Make sure that the first 120 characters of the article description are selling and crisp - this is what will be shown in Google’s search results. In the rest of the article description you should add all the information the customer needs to know about the product.
Right product in the right category
It is very important that you put your product under the right category to simplify for the customer both browsing or searching Fyndiq.se as well as on Google. Using the wrong category means customers will not find it.
Properties
- To make your products visible when a user is filtering the products, please make sure to select properties used for filtering, for example Fyndiq-color and/or size properties. All properties can be used for filtration with the exception of free text properties.
- It is possible to freely choose the properties to base your variations on within a product, but in most cases it should be a color and/or size property used. More information on properties can be found here.
